The sports version of the A 112 appears at the Turin Motor Show in 1971. 
Fiat Group's Autobianchi had to maintain its position in a market where small cars were very successful. And it is immediately appreciated. Flame red, with a matt black bonnet, anatomical seats with headrests and a three-spoke steering wheel trimmed in leather, it seduced with its elegance, but was also designed for rallying, especially for regularity trials. 

 

The engine has a displacement of 982cc, 58 hp. About 121.600 examples were built in seven series until 1985, but the rarest and most sought-after was the first series (4.641 examples). The design was by Carlo Abarth, the most Italian of the Viennese, a brilliant inventor of engine mechanics, who reworked the A 112 model. 
Success in competition led to the founding of a championship, the Trofeo A 112 (1977-1984), contested by young aspiring drivers, some of whom went on to achieve international fame.
