1969-2019 - A MAN ON THE MOON WITH HIS OMEGA SPEEDMASTER
Half a century ago, the man set foot on the Moon, and an Omega Speedmaster on his wrist beat those minutes that will remain forever in the history of the great challenges of humanity.
People who was in front of the TV in 1969 remember to have felt a moved empathy with that astronaut, Buzz Aldrin, that put down the foot on the lunar ground at 03:15:16 on July 21st; nine minutes after Neil Armstrong had come down first from the ladder.
But he had left his speedmaster aboard the landing module after the breaking of the on-board stopwatch. It was then Aldrin who wore the first watch on the moon.
There is no longer Armstrong to tell those exciting moments, but Aldrin can, 50 years after Apollo 11's landing, live again the mythical feat. It was a NASA choice to use the Omega speedmaster chronograph for all manned space missions. The Omega watchmaker, already marked for its high precision, was subjected by NASA to tests of strength and precision, qualities that have always characterized its production.
